On the sixth episode of My Favorite Album, host Jeremy
Dylan is joined by 2-time Grammy winning Americana music
icon Jim Lauderdale, who also happens to the
subject of Jeremy's soon to be released documentary The King of
Broken Hearts.
Jim and Jeremy discuss the classic 1974 final album from
Gram Parsons - "Grevious Angel".
Along the way, they break down classic tracks including Hickory
Wind and Love Hurts, discuss Emmylou Harris's vocal contribution to
the album, faking a live audience in the studio, the free masons
and how Jim has followed in Gram's musical and geographical
footsteps.
My Favorite Album is a podcast unpacking the great
works of pop music. Each episode features a different songwriter or
musician discussing their favorite album of all time - their
history with it, the making of the album, individual songs and the
album’s influence on their own music.
Jeremy Dylan is a filmmaker from Sydney, Australia
who has worked in the music industry since 2007. He has directed
the feature film Benjamin Sniddlegrass and the Cauldron of
Penguins and the feature music documentary Jim Lauderdale:
