My Favorite Album with Jeremy Dylan

Nov 21, 2014

It took 31 episodes, but finally host Jeremy Dylan sits down to discuss the world's consensus favourite album "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". Jeremy is joined by Sydney super-producer Tony Buchen (The Preatures, She Rex) to discuss the album that defined the 60s.

They break down classic tracks including She's Leaving Home, With A Little Help From My Friends, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite and A Day in the Life and along the way talk about the unique personalities of Ringo and George Martin, the decline in quality of children's music, why mono is better than stereo and how Tony is carrying forward the Sgt Pepper production ethos into the 21st century.

My Favorite Album is a podcast unpacking the great works of pop music. Each episode features a different songwriter or musician discussing their favorite album of all time - their history with it, the making of the album, individual songs and the album’s influence on their own music.

Jeremy Dylan is a filmmaker from Sydney, Australia who has worked in the music industry since 2007. He directed the the feature music documentary Jim Lauderdale: The King of Broken Hearts (out now!) and the feature film Benjamin Sniddlegrass and the Cauldron of Penguins, in addition to many commercials and music videos.
